- Large handmade vase in blue with wide neck. Made by hand. This piece has been thrown on the wheel. When its leather hard I put it back on the wheel and turn it (trim) to refine the shape. Ive then pierced the vase. Once Im happy with it its allowed to dry slowly over several days. I then apply the glazed by hand by painting it on using several colours of glaze layered over each other. It is then fired to 1180deg C making it extremely tough. The inner glaze is black The outer colour is handpainted in shades of blue, with several layers of glaze combining to make this pretty colour.
